Breast Rejuvenation IV – Augmentation with Mastopexy
This patient shows all the common signs of breast aging. She had a nice full breast in her early twenties but after children breastfeeding and a few years the shape has deteriorated significantly. The volume is now quite a bit less then ‘before kids’ and the nipple is no longer on the apex. The skin is very loose, and the breast has a flat hollowed out look on the top part. This requires a comprehensive approach in which each of the elements (skin, nipple position, and volume) are addressed.
“I used to have a nice figure (and still do) but I hated the way my chest has changed. I was so droopy and all the breast volume was gone. I like to wear pretty clothes and they just didn’t fit right (forget about strapless!) I went in for an augmentation but Dr Gouverne assured me that a lift is needed as well. I was worried what it would look like, but I feel it was well worth it. I love my new chest! And I love my new wardrobe.”
Augmentation mastopexy is a challenging operation and requires quite a bit of experience to pull off. When well executed it proves to be an excellent solution to the involuting, aging breast. This type of breast augmentation is becoming more and more frequent.
